Mother Love

July 24th, 2011

This three-month photo session at the studio was a Mother’s Day gift for this little guy’s mommy…I loved this idea! In the years to come, there will be flowers picked and sweet cards given, but for this, her first Mother’s Day, I don’t think there can be any better gift than the moments captured with [...]

This little one already has one awesome wardrobe at just three months old. I was thrilled when I saw her little Anthropologie get-up…my funky gold chair was just the right accent! ~blair blanks | baltimore baby photographer | blairblanks.com

Noah, Three Months Old {baby photo session}

July 9th, 2009

Three-month-olds are tough customers! They’re not sleepy like newborns; they don’t have the stamina of six-month-olds; and they have arms and legs that “windmill” non-stop. Noah was such a sweetie, but like all babies his age, a challenge to photograph. We kept playing this dirty trick on him with his paci — we’d let him [...]

Noah was such a sweetie, but like all babies his age, a challenge to photograph. We kept playing this dirty trick on him with his paci — we’d let him suck just long enough to calm him down and then – pluck!- out it came. Poor little guy was so tired and all he wanted to do was sleep without us bugging him!

11 weeks old, Baltimore Baby Photo Session

August 5th, 2008

From a baby photographer’s perspective, three months is one of the toughest ages. These little ones are not sleepy newborns, nor are they able to sit up or even hold up their heads for long. But, on the upside, this is when their personalities really start to show! This sweet little girl is Miss Elliot [...]

This sweet little girl is Miss Elliot (I love that name!). She made us work for it and conked out right at the very end of the session, just long enough for me to capture a few sleepy shots.

Because everyone’s entitled to a bad day…MD baby portraits

July 27th, 2008

In the years I have been photographing babies and kids, I have learned quite a few tricks to eeking out nice images of even the grumpiest of subjects. But I have also learned to know when it’s time to cut things short and try again another day. This session was one of those. Little Maitland [...]

In the years I have been photographing babies and kids, I have learned quite a few tricks to eeking out nice images of even the grumpiest of subjects. But I have also learned to know when it’s time to cut things short and try again another day.

This session was one of those. Little Maitland here was not thrilled with her visit to the studio the first time. It seems she was just too tired to put up with all my silliness, and she let us know in no uncertain terms that she was DONE. Unfortunately, she was “done” before I was, so I invited her to come back another day. Look at the difference! I’m so thrilled, because the images from the second shoot show her truly sunny personality (not to mention some awesomely squeezeable thighs!)
